keep it simple
whatever you do in life, k.i.s.s.

that's:
keep it simple, stupid.

the vocab
in writing or speaking, i often see and hear people use a vocabulary that would put webster's dictionary to shame. if you know big words, fine. if you know complex terminology and all that jargon, great. keep it to yourself and keep it simple, just get to the gatdamn point. remember, only people with small minds, have to use big words.

in food
it's nice to have a fancy meal now and then but what's even better is a simple meal done to perfection. it's hard to find something as simple as a hamburger done really good. you'd need the perfect, moist bun, the meat should be cooked, yet juicy but not overdone and the toppings shouldn't be messy nor overpower the meat or the bun. far too often, people try and innovate things that are already good and that already work just fine. if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

in appearance
less is more. an accessory here and a print there, fine. but when you rock so many prints or so many accessories you start giving people epileptic seizures, others start calling you mr. t with all the jewelry you wear. it's ridiculous. less is more. this goes to you females wearing way too much makeup, too. less is really more. cake face ain't so fly and once we wake up next to you in the morning, the last thing we need is a surprise. that would be uncalled for. k.i.s.s.

in training
i see so many trainers and people in the gym, alike, doing all kinds of fancy shit on stability balls, bosu balls or through massive feats like moving around a ton of iron while 'hissing' and 'huffing' and 'puffing' and 'blowing (a house down)'. others sound like those old time steam engines, the way they let off steam. to anyone who exercises, stop trying to impress people and get to the damn point - train. myself as a trainer, i don't do moves to make you sexy inside of the gym, i do moves to make you look sexy outside of the gym, where it matters. stop playing and get to the point, posers.
another thing, while we're here, to anyone who reads and indulges in the beautiful world of anatomy and physiology, stop using technical words and jargon when talking to clients or 'normal' people. nobody cares if it's called the latissimus dorsi - it's the back and nobody knows what the triceps brachii is, they just care if it jiggles when they wave their hand or not. as for V02max and protocols, put it in a language that even a 6 year old can understand: "if you run hard, you'll be able to run faster...if you don't run hard, you're gonna be fat forever, sorry". simple as a dimple.
refine your craft, stick to the basics and never forget your fundamentals.

“Simplicity is the final achievement. After one has played a vast quantity of notes and more notes, it is simplicity that emerges as the crowning reward of art.”
