masterpice mondays: testing the iphone
when you're on top, everyone wants to test you. take athletic champions for instance, whether you're a tennis player, basketballer, boxer, mma'er or whatever, everyone wants a piece of you on when you're on top.

the same can be said for apple. last week the iphone was released in the U.S. and it didn't just make a ripple in the pond, it caused a damn tsunami! i mean so what?..the phone is only 5 years ahead of the whole mobile game and so what?...the iphone is only gonna be as iconic in the mobile world as the ipod is in the mp3 world. big deal.

it's no secret that the iphone is, and for a while, will be put under the examining microscope of haters awaiting it's demise. that's natural. people knock what they can't have or understand. fair enough.

people knock what they can't have or understand.

don't try and understand why apple is so good at what they do. accept it and move on.

in today's return of masterpiece mondays, i present no other than PC world magazine's video test of the iphone. ha. a PC test of an apple product.

the video presents a real life simulation of what your iphone might go through in your daily jaunting. the end result: even PC world shows that yes, the iphone isn't fine china - it's durable too! don't deny it.

disclaimer**let me warn you though, mac users and admirers, some scenes may be disturbing.

mac is crack and the iphone is so badass.
i need her in my life.

  • ok, so I was in San Fran for a couple of days earlier this week and Apple HQ is in Cupertino, CA (20 mins or so out of the city) and actually had some time to check out the iPhone. I did only play around with it for 5 minutes, but unfortunately, those 5 minutes weren't that great of an experience.

I would like to think of myself as a pretty intuitive person, especially when it comes with tech gadgets (and i love playing with phone features) but it just was not as great as i thought it would be. typing on the on-screen keyboard was a little difficult. maybe it was just my chubby fingers, but expecially for guys, i'd find it to be difficult to select those keys. like all things, maybe it would just take a little getting used to, but i dunno - my first impression after my first encounter with it wasn't pleasant. (pictures to come)

  • ok, so maybe that's the case, but the keyboards of most smart phones out there right now aren't any better. of course there will be pros and cons with the iphone, i never said it was an angelic piece of technology sent down from the heavens.

however, you can't for one second tell me that the iphone isn't currently and continually will be iconic in terms of the mobile world. shoot, it's ahead of it's time.

recall the first generation iPods. remember those? shitty batteries, black and grey screens. huge muthas. regardless, after a couple years of fine tuning, the iPod is standard biz and THE icon of our generation in terms of portable entertainment.

apple makes products with normal people in mind. their aesthetic is one thing but their products go beyond user-friendly - they're user-intercoursey.

    it just works.

    in closing....two words: patented touch-screen.

    love youuuuu ate.

    p.s.
did you read my past post about you?
    p.p.s.
you cop me any apple gear??? cmonnnnn

  • i didn't really have that much time to look around. i was there on a mission - to check out the iphone and to check if our product was on their shelves (which they weren't, but were supposed to be!). maybe next time around, i'll be able to do a little bit of shopping. these trips for work are hectic!

  • the price for the iphone is obscene. monthly charges top at least 60US in the states... i cant imagine paying that each month on a phone! *cringe*

    it's hot though...
