what could've happend?
after reading this on colin's blog, i'm still having a tough time coming to terms with it. don't get me wrong, my world hasn't stopped spinning or anything but when i read about pro wrestler chris benoit's tragic death/double-murder suicide i started to contemplate our human condition.

i haven't followed pro wrestling in at least 7 years but when i did, chris "the canadian crippler" benoit was one of my favourites. his ability as a mat tecnician in the bodyslam game were flawless, he was a small dude with a big heart and was tough as nails. finally and most importantly, he had close ties with one of canada's most beloved wrestling families - the harts.

it's kind of messed when you hear about one of your favourite athletes/celebrities being capable of such dirty deeds. nonetheless, you, at least i, i should say, try and deny it in your little world. true, chris had no right to take the life of his wife and (allegedly) his 7 year old son but besides that - the broader picture, you gotta wonder what the hell could've triggered that? what was going on in his head at that very moment? i''ve always been big on the psychology behind crimes of passion and crimes in general.

what pushes a man to kill his wife and son? what could've possibly happend?
sad thing is, men beat their wives and abuse their children every day all over the world.
that's the unspoken and realistic sad part.

i just wonder why...or more so, how?

to the benoits, r.i.p.

  • I blame the steroids. I don't know but this story was very disturbing to me especially with his son not being murdered until the day after his wife was murdered. I'm sure he was very mentally unstable when it occurred because it seems too horrifying to comprehend.
