after and before shot: note how shiny and soft and silky-smooth my short hair in the left image looks. in the second picture, note how course and shiny and soft my hair looks (haha)

so i shaved my head again
not for a long term commitment though. i was growing my hair in a bit and everyone started freaking out. it was mostly good feedback but my friends started tripping after not seeing me for a long time. it was as if jesus had visited me or something. it's understandable since i haven't grown my shaved head for a period of longer than two weeks since grade 10.

i started going to the barber again and became part of this community that my friends were also a part of. although i never actually saw them there at the same time as me, information about one another was relayed through our mutual barber, "B". he was like a monthly newscast broadcasting the lives of our friends.

the effects of growing my hair in became apparent when my school friends saw me just the other day. we haven't hung out since the beginning of 2007 and they flipped. "i didn't know you were growing your hair. i've never seen you like that. you should've said something". those were the words of my friend jon chan. i should've said something???? who tells anyone they're gonna grow their locks? it's not that important. ok, maybe girls might do that but between dudes - hmmm...that's kind of weird.

anyhow my hair got kind of thick and i just didn't feel like going to the barber. i was sitting upright in my bed just running my hand through my hair messing it up in un-called for frustration. i like my hair long, that's correct. but it just became too thick for me; not long, thick. i decided to pull out my clippers like i used to and buzz my hair again. it was empowering. i didn't go as short as i used to because my main purpose is just to re-set my fresh hair. it's alwys a nice feeling, at least to me, to have fresh, dark black, soft virgin hair growing out of your head. running my hand over my scalp right now, it feels like silk - and i haven't even pantene pro-v conditioned this state yet.

although i miss the days when i could just get out of bed wash my face and take off out the door with the wind in my face and blowing over my scalp, don't plan on me keeping my nazi look for long. it was all just part of a cyclical process. back to the growing board, i mean drawing board.
