proper housing (the good stuff)
i'm really into the observationalist comedians. you know what im talking about? the sorta seinfeld stand up style which usually starts off with "ever notice..." or "why is it that?...". yea, those kinds of funny people.

i was watching a piece on the comedy network today by some random unknown joker. he brought up a good point concerning men and their underwear: when you're single and young, that is unmarried (which usually go hand-in-hand; "single and young"), you tend to wear really nice underwear; the Hilfigers, the Polos, shoot, even i have to admit how mr. CK adorns my ass. we just wanna be your ultimate object of desire, that's all.

on the flip side, when you're a seasoned sexual veteran, old and married, you tend to wear really shitty underwear. rocky threatened his trainer mickey in rocky III that if he didn't train him for the upcoming fight against clubber "mr. T" lang, he'd tell the whole world that he never changed his underwears for over a decade.

back in the day, i remember going through what seemed like tons of clothing - seperating the load of laundry my mom cleaned and coming across my dad's briefs. they were so out of this world - most likely from the philippines. i'm talking crazy, all-over speckle and dot prints, paisleys, various striping patterns, beige and tan, maroon etc. the works. these were some funky-ass wears from the early late 70s/early 80s era.

"we just don't give a crap down the road" the comedian exclaimed. "sometimes, you'll just have a waistband and a little piece of cloth protecting the front - everything else disintegrated!"

it was a hilarious piece and a prime example that most jokes are based on truth. which brings me back to grade 6 when me and some others would get into a lot of shit during family studies lessons in regards to sexuality and development. my teacher explained that we only laugh at things we don't understand, feel uncomfortable with or find grains of truth in. she nailed it if you really think about the mechanics of humour. sometimes, it's a combination of all the above.

anyhow, i for one, promise to always rock really nice underwear as long i can afford it. it's only fair for my wife down the road, isn't it? she just better keep up with this ultimate object of desire, that's all.
