there's this new ikea commercial that i caught the other night where a lady gives her friend a tour of her newly furnished home. she shows her the bedrooms, livingroom, bathroom and kitchen. there's just one detail you might not come to terms with if you don't listen or watch close enough though -- every room is decorated and furnished like a kitchen. the lady loves her kitchens.

it was at that point that i couldn't help but think of myself and my own room. currently, my room is in designing limbo. for the past couple months, i spoke about refurnishing my room but the fact of the matter is, it can wait. the trip is coming and i gotta really budget (for now) a low-budget.

the ikea commercial ends with a slogan implying something along the lines of "love your space" or "spaces you can love" or something smart like that.

my room isn't going to be a "bed" room per se. the vision of my room is a place where i can just relax and unwind...maybe do some work once in awhile. considering that i've been sleeping on the floor for the past year and half, i don't see any reason for me to sacrifice space with a big ol' bed. if i have company, she'll just have to opt for my chest or the sofa as a resting place.

yea, i said sofa...but really a chaise. clean lines and comfort.

below are pics of the current state of my room. true, the walls have been painted just the way i intended and yea, i have the laminated wood floors but the furniture is not what i need. the drawer is my drawer as a kid and imma scrap that. the computer desk, well...it's just not a proper alter for my mac, now is it? it's so PC. *snicker**

when i come back...probably before i buy a keyboard or bass guitar, im gonna make a point to finish this room of mine. it'll be da bomb, you best believe.
