sometimes i come to a predicament - am i an 80s child or a 90s child?
was i old enough to really experience the 80s, being born in '82? or am i fully embedded into one of the crumbiest decades of music, art and culture of all time - the 1990s? i don't mean that in the worst way possible, mind you, the 90s did have her moments.

for today's masterpiece monday, i'd like to bless you with a medley from some of my favourite jawns from the 80's.

[breakfast club dancing scene]
the breakfast club conjures up so much nostalgia for me. that movie is timeless and you know it too. i'm almost certain you'll be able to find a reflection of yourself in each of those characters - whether that be you past or present.

[simple minds - "don't you forget about me"]
a classic song to go with a classic movie. i hear this song and i think of friends from highschool just as i'm starting to think of friends from university. growing up and apart comes with the territory of age, i guess.

[the cure - "friday i'm in love"]
honest to goodness carefreeness.

[limahl - "neverending story (non movie version)"]
ahhh fantasy through synth. what kind of name is limahl anyhow? you name your kid that and he's asking for a beating in school...at least here, in north america (it might differ in scandanavia or the balkan regions).
