alice cooper (no relation to anderson cooper) was right - school is out forever (for now at least). watching afternoon talkshows directed toward stay-at-home mommies have got me thinking. im seeing ads from target, old navy, walmart and a whole slew of other big box type stores. what are they raving about?....BACK TO SCHOOL! that's what all the raving madness is about.

for the first time in 20 solid years of being educated, i will not be part of the whole "back to school" shopping craze. it's kind of bittersweet. i mean i won't be able to buy the illest pencils, binders and notepads, not to mention fresh gear. that kind of blows donkeys. but on the flipside, it's kind of gratifying that i don't have to anymore; i'm finished school. now all that money can start going back to where it belongs - in my pockets. now i can do what i wanna do (for a year at least); travel, look for a career in the field of health science and human movement, start being active again and maybe...just maybe, if budget permits, finally redecorate my bedroom. the paint's on the wall and the wood flooring is being laid down as you read. i need to refurnish and clean up that joint.

not going back to school this fall won't be so bad after all; it'll be back to jay shopping - back to the basics.

  • dee: not "grade 13" per say. it was a grade after grade 12 but they called it "OAC" for the university-bound demographic.

    jo: no, not yet. the ipod is on the backburner for now. don't think i forgot about sending you that definitive collection of music, either. i'll have to get your address in a minute...(a minute as in after i finish putting together the anthology. soon, i promise.)
