i did it again...masterpiece monday a day late. but better late than never (sometimes!!!).

a lot of folks ask me what's the difference between rap and hip hop. or a lot of folks get it wrong in front of me - like rap and hip hop are the same thing.

it's been argued and discussed and debated a zillion times before.

i ask you, is a timex the same as a rolex? or is ground beef the same grade as steak?

some contrast hip hop and rap by explaining, "rap is loving someone; while hip hop is being in love with someone".

hip hop is a culture; rap is its subculture.

hip hop is going to church or staying at home and talking to God alone; rap is telling everyone about it.

a fanatic of poetry in all it's different forms, i wanted to share with you this piece by sekou the misfit from def poetry jam.
enjoy.
