public service announcements - your tax dollars being put to good use.

  • drugs! drugs! drugs!
    sing along, kids! i'm almost certain this PSA is canadian; im pinpointing southern ontario (my hood), i can feel it.
    and why exactly would mom and dad know which drugs are 'good' or 'bad'? is this supposed to explain the large quantity of paint thinner and glue we have in our garage?

    like it's that easy to "just say no". growing up, we had some messed up anti-drug campaigns saturating channels. maybe it was cocaine during the 80s...probably weed during the early 90s...then again, maybe designer clubbing drugs of the late 90s. the should learn to just use a serious tone in their ads rather than being 'rad' and rapping.

  • "milk rap" - dairy farmers of ontario
    okay, so i was wrong, they should use hip hop to get their point across to the youth. this ad is roughly 3 years old and i still play it back in my head to this day. it's dirty, son!

  • homefront on domestic violence
    okay, i never actually caught this one on t.v. but i'm pretty sure it did air at some point. why wouldn't it? the legal age to drink here in ontario is 19 and in montreal it's 18. we tried to decriminalize smoking herbs and the u.s. allegedly believes that we're a breeding ground for terrorists; why wouldn't they air this explicit PSA on canadian t.v.? we have the strictest policies, right?
