i like simple things done really good. people call people like me minimalists. whether it's my women, my clothes, my food or the furniture in my room or even my desktop's wallpaper - i can really appreciate simplicity.

it's day 2 minus ma and pa and i have to admit, i was quite productive. i painted my room for the greater part of the day then cleaned up the house. by the time 4pm swung around, it was time for me to prep dinner for big brother and i. i figure he, the engineer works his ass off all day and i who has dealt with the clutter of my room and the notes of this upcoming wednesday's exam, both deserve a good hearty meal. something comforting. some soul food. i rolled out the grill, took the tarp off and grilled some burgers and dogs.

something simple done really good...

the mc minimalist meal
4 1/4lb. hamburger patties
2 ball park sized all beef hot dogs
4 poppy seed hamburger buns
2 hot dog buns
4 slices of processed cheddar cheese

**toppings
hellman's lite mayo
french's sweet onion mustard (but any old mustard will do)
ketchup
fresh spinach leaves (washed and pat-dried)
fresh slices of tomato
sauteed onions (take onions and sautee yourself, einstein)
sauteed mushrooms (ditto for the shrooms)

heat up your grill and cook burgers and dogs to perfection - i.e. well done. prior to the completion of hamburgers, place processed cheese slices on patties and let them melt gloriously. enjoy the spectacle. turn off grill and clean while hot (dirty grills are bad news).

- hamburgers
lightly spread mayo on the bottom half of the bun. place patty with melted cheese on this surface. spread mustard on the roof portion of the bun. then lay down your spinach, tomato and ketchup - in this order! back to the bottom portion of the bun with patty -- lay down your sauteed shrooms followed by your sauteed onions. combine both portions of bun together and build your devastating mc minimalist hamburger.

- hot dogs
as for the dogs...well, top 'em to your heart's desire. i like ketchup only.

*wash down with a tall glass of five alive mango citrus flavour and you're laughing.
serves 2 hungry fools with leftover hamburger each for the following work day OR serves all of ethiopia.

enjoy.

simple as a dimple.
