"i'm gonna use self control
instead of birth control
'cause $315 ain't worth your soul
$315 ain't worth your soul
$315 ain't worth it"

common's coming to toronto and he's playing kool haus tonight. you best believe that i'm gonna check that out.

and why shouldn't i?...he's only one of my favourite artists. all elements of lyricism aside, common's music is so real, it's scary.

below is a video of one of my favourite common songs "retrospect for life". basically, he talks about abortion - but not abortion in a preachy sorta "if you abort youre going to hell and your gonna burn a thousand times over" kind of way. rather, he illustrates how he felt when he heard that he was going to be a father. it's all too honest and personal - which is exactly why we all love common's work; it has soul.

["retrospect for life" by common feat. lauryn hill]
