what does the phrase "relish every moment" really mean? im serious here. when they tell me to relish something do they mean that i should smash some cucumbers down, add some sugar and other preservatives and store in a sterile jar for later use? i almost wanna reach for a hot dog.

my boys jon and will all took the time to meet up with me today. we haven't had a class together since last semester (applies to will and i). jon on the other hand -- we haven't had a class together since last year's first term. jon's finished school now thanks to the wonders of summer school sessions and fast-tracking previously while will's bid at york u expires after the summer. i think it's really cool that we can all meet up and chill ON CAMPUS once in a while for that matter. my boy oliver graduated last summer ahead of the pack and is out in the real world. we hang out with him when time permits but it's so damn hard when one half is in the real world working the daily 9-5 j-o and the other is a full time student/part time clothing-dealer.

today for a brief 1.5 hrs, all three of us (to refresh - that's jon, will and me) met up at the kinesiologist office in bethune college. we then hiked over to the underground. in past visits, i must say, the service was straight wack. the food was wack and don't even get me started on the service. on several occassions we, as a collective, vowed to never go there again. despite this vow, we went there today. i tell myself we went there because all the other "decent" pubs and restaurants on campus were packed - which they were, but in reality and subconsciously, i think that's our spot. love it or hate it - the underground is our spot. to sum up the event, all in all , good times were second nature, as usual. in fact, i was so grateful that the boys took the time out of their schedules to hang out that i even offered to foot the bill; mind you, what would be and should have been a 40 to 50 dollar bill. but hey, what's money among good times with friends, right?

like jay-z was told by jermaine dupri,
"Jigga, I don't like it if it don't gleam clean
And to hell with the price
cause the money ain't a thang".

and quite frankly, it isn't. and quite frankly, all my friends (this means you who read and know me personally) should take advantage of my offers, especially if it's a pay week thursday.

so we wait. we watch some bball highlights from last nite (man, did you see that scrap during the seattle game?). eat some appetizers. swig some beverage. and wait...and wait..and wait. my burger and fries come, but where is will's eats? where's jon's eats? we ask...server replies..."blah blah...sorry...mistake...i don't know how the kitchen mixed it up..blah...ON THE HOUSE".

all i could hear echo in my head was the "ON THE HOUSE" part...except the beer of course because in our case, they can't put alcohol "on the house" for some reason (weird, they always do that on sitcoms).

cut to conclusion of reunion - will heads to his 2:30 lecture, me and jon stick around a bit longer and the bill arrives.
$6.89 for wilf's brew and 0 for the meal.

remember...ON THE HOUSE.

moral of the story: if the opportunity presents itself, treat your friends once in awhile because somehow, it'll work out to your benefit down the road. besides, for your good deedage, you'll look like the ronald mc donald wish foundation to everyone...not that that should be your driving force intent. hell no. of course not.

all in all, with the 9 degree celsius weather (that' equator-like conditions for toronto during january, mind you), shining sun and fresh, cool winter air, plus a good [free/ON THE HOUSE] meal with my boys...it was a perfect day.

my days are just flying by like i knew they would.
3 months. remember, that jay, 3 months.

relish, you're so delicious.
