exercise involves chemistry
if you're ever planning on investing in a personal trainer, whether it be for a short term relationship or a long term one, make sure there's a chemistry there. i'm not saying find a trainer that you plan on marrying or anything like that, i'm saying find a trainer who can motivate you the way you need to motivated. some people need tough love, drill-sgt. like trainers to kick their ass and push them to their limits. others need patient, laid back trainers who can still challenge and inspire without calling you a weak, snot-nosed, fat slob.

test drive your trainers. we're like cars. some are fast, some are slow. some are big, some are small. some are reliable and others aren't. most trainers won't or shouldn't have a problem with giving you a free workout, and if they do, fuck'em. who wants to drop a grand for training sessions with a trainer that won't even get you your results, or with a trainer who won't give a shit the way you need them to give a shit, or with a trainer who you just won't get along with ultimately?

trainers and clients need chemistry.

on the flip side, i have a right to refuse or even "fire" my clients. hopefully, it never comes to that. thankfully, all my clients are pretty cool. i guess my director matched up good leads with my laid-back ass-kicking-duality mentality.

ahem...i try and strike a fine balance.
