so i called the registrar general's office of ontario. they put me on hold for more than 30 minutes but i'm a persistent man. i was seeking information concerning the status of my birth certificate. was it in the mail? was my application rejected? i mean, hell...time is running out!

she said once again, i failed to fill out the form correctly. maybe i did but fuck...inform me. inform us, canada!
at that point, i almost lost hope for this trip.
driven more than ever, i went up to my room in a fury. i prayed for some help from God (that's what men do in desperation). i was determined to find my so called "lost" birth certificate. i knew it was in my room somewhere and although i combed every paper twice, i had this gut feeling it was there. somewhere.

i looked...and looked. i had no intention of re-applying for my birth certificate and waiting for another 4 weeks. fuck that.

i looked some more..and combed...and combed. receipt after receipt...envelope after envelope...birth cards, letters and files...i went through them all.
i hit an old wallet and checked that out.

boom!
there she was. this stupid little piece of paper that defines me as a canadian citizen. with this in hand, it's time to define my existence and travel.

gatdamn kids...you don't even know the shit that i've been through to get to this point.
now...let's renew this damn passport, already.

after finding the card, i went downstairs and notified my mom with a giant kiss and hug. i haven't felt this relieved since my graduation a few months ago.
i went back upstairs and the below song was playing in my room as i re-entered...after this morning -- very fitting. very.

one love, my people. one love. ha.
my life is very whimsical.

[song of the day]
