it's a good thing that i'm starting to prepare my things for the trip now. i just spent the last hour looking for a stupid little piece of paper called a "birth certificate". since this trip even crossed my mind, i figured that i had all my documents in place; i simply had to provide them at the passport office and renew my passport that expired last year. boy, was i wrong. i need a birth certificate to do all of that. usually, and for years, i've filed all of my personal documents in an adidas shoebox stored in an undisclosed location within my bedroom. flipping through that and many other similar shoeboxes full of bills and other junk, i had no luck.

oh well, looks like i'm gonna have to apply for a birth certificate in order to apply for a passport renewal.
like my man mos def says in "the questions"...

"why do i need i.d., to get i.d?
if i had i.d., i wouldn't need i.d!"

don't fret, colin...it'll take a mere 15 days to get that and then a mere 2-3 weeks for the passport. that's what?....september.
wai penh rai as the thais say (no problem/no worries).

  • yeah dude...get that stuff in check!

    i wonder...

do i need a passport to get into canada...if i'm flying up? and that means i gotta check in all the stuff i was gonna take with me as my carry-on. errh?

now i've got to find my own passport. and come to think of it, my own birth certificate. my safe deposit is called "ma", so i guess that's where i'll start.

  • yea, the rule of thumb for me is to pack a passport whenever you're boarding a plane and heading to another country (foreign or neighbouring). sure i've crossed into upstate ny with my birth certificate - but i think theyre more anal when youre flying...especially now considering the recent events.

keep the vaginal lube and toothpaste in your luggage. have a safe trip. bienvenue au canada!
